So today I’m finally 100% recovered from our drink-a-thon A.K.A. SMX East. Where I got to meet some new friends and see a ton of old friends! I’ll do a SMX wrap up this week I promise! Todays post though is regarding a Sphinn article from Brent Csutoras titled – How Social Media Is Invading Traditional Media Now I had a chance to talk to Brent about the article before it came out.. and I asked him if he had mentioned “AOTS” That’s Attack of the Show on G4 (a geek channel owned by Comcast)

As a social media nut and all around geek…I love, love, love it when traditonal media realizes that there is a geek crowd following, and they then pave the way for more shows / traditional media outlets to start accepting us! Since this example wasn’t in the original article I thought I’d go ahead and write this up so that everyone else could enjoy it.

It’s called Virtual Audience and it’s really pretty fun if your into that kind of geekdom – Get yourself a Stickam account, your laptop and head to the living room to watch Attack of the Show during their live broadcasts and you can become part of the Show! Also Kevin (one of the hosts of the show) comes over and bullshit’s w/ the online chat during the commercials… then you hear the producer say 30 seconds to air and he bolts back to the podium! All I can say is BRAVO! Way to be a first and hopefully other shows will start to become more interactive in REAL TIME w/ their audience – interactive TV what’s next… Flying cars?
