So after successfully winning the Lancaster SEO contest I figured I should hop in and give everyone some much needed updates! First things first SEO 101 on WebmasterRadio.fm had quite the surprise last week when our producer told us in chat that we had a caller on our Toll Free Question line! And who was this surprise caller? It was the 1 the only… Brian Mark! His question? Well he wanted to know if Carolyn and I wanted him back on the show… Which we jumped at… Brian has been on hiatus for 5 months now… Carolyn Rawks… but I do have to say I missed my bud So WELCOME BACK BRIAN! 

And if that’s not enough awesomeness for you first thing in the morning… How about this? Heather Fox over at IBM Press has sent me a Draft Manuscript copy of Search Engine Marketing, Inc.  Second Edition (Mike Moran & Bill Hunt) Mike will be joining us on SEO 101 to discuss the new book… look for that episode in the first weeks of October!

Well I’m kinda done.. our Lancaster SEO contest is ‘Officially’ Over… and yes - yours truly is the victor! Did you expect anything less? Of course you didn’t… I will say I probably had a bit of an unfair advantage… because I talked about it on SEO 101 today (I probably got a few links there) WHICH BTW reminds me… Did anyone hear the end of the show when our ‘caller’ called in? It was Brian Mark… asking if we wanted him to come back! I’m soooooooo freaking pumped to have Brian back on the team its not even funny! So Welcome back brotha! We missed you…

As far as the competition went… I lined out some of what I did for our contest on the show today… I used some Twitter / Wordpress / basic on site SEO / Craigslist / and ummm I’ll have to think about what else… oh yeah - asked for links! You guys freaking RAWK! Here’s my official screen shot… sorry it’s so big (I’m still trying to get my home office set up) everything is in boxes… it’s a mess! And we get new offices at work on Monday! I’m thinking I’ll have a webcam set up for the site

I do have to say this - Dave Conklin is a damn good SEO and even though he doesn’t have my blackbook… he’s a freakin genius and a riot to work with! Good sport too he’s buying the pizza tomorrow night - Alright @mrsneo is looking at me like I need to help empty some of these moving boxes…

So yesterday was a fun one in the office… As many of you that read the blog know we recently moved to Lancaster Pa (and I do SEO) so my blog post yesterday hopped up in the Google SERP’s to the #3 position from yesterdays post… Shortly there after one of the co-founders of our company decided to try and out rank me for the term “Lancaster SEO” So Dave then laid out some guidelines for our little ‘experiment / contest’ the winner will be determined by the Google SERP’s 1st to 1st place wins! And we cannot spend ANY money buying links or paid services to help us rank. Fine… I think to myself… as I go outside to have a smoke, shortly after I notice that there is a Youtube channel for “Lancaster SEO” And well… watch the video

Looks like the gloves are off… so I’ll go ahead and ask for a quick favor.
